First days in Bangkok.
Our second day we went to the Golden Mount, a temple with good city views.
You can climb to the top. Here monks stop and pray at the stupa at the top.
A temple at the bottom of the mount.
Later, en route to meet our hosts for drinks, we passed a mall with an odd Karaoke Christmas event going on.
Fortunately later that evening there was more traditional Thai entertainment.
Some views from the canal taxi.
The next day we visited the Grand Palace.
We stopped at Jim Thompson House on the way home. He moved here in the 1950s and reinvigorated the Thai silk business, and built a beautiful traditional Thai home. He disappeared while hiking in Laos in the 1960s.
